Ayanna Michel-Strauder

Ayanna Michel-Strauder is a Research Project Coordinator at CORNERS: the Center for Neighborhood Engaged Research & Science. They previously worked at a non-profit organization focused on restaurant job training and social support for at-risk youth in the Chicagoland area. Ayanna earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in African American Studies from Howard University. In her free time, Ayanna enjoys cooking, crocheting, and spending time at the Chicago Botanic Garden.

Currently, our research focuses primarily on gun violence prevention and community violence intervention (CVI), policing practices, and public safety, and we are expanding into other areas that effect neighborhood health and well-being.
