Hilary Jackl

Hilary Jackl is a doctoral student in the School of Criminal Justice at SUNY Albany. A native Californian, she earned a BA in Psychology from San Francisco State University and an MS in Justice Studies from San Jose State University. Her research interests include prisoner reentry/reintegration, housing insecurity and urban poverty, and qualitative and ethnographic methods. Hilary is also passionate about prison education and teaches undergraduate-level college courses at a correctional facility in upstate New York. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her four dogs and reading books about American history.

Featured Projects

Currently, our research focuses primarily on gun violence prevention and community violence intervention (CVI), policing practices, and public safety, and we are expanding into other areas that effect neighborhood health and well-being.
