Hibiki Sakai

Hibiki Sakai is a Research Data Analyst at CORNERS: the Center for Neighborhood Engaged Research & Science, where they leverage analytical techniques to help inform how communities, researchers, and policymakers can address gun violence in Chicago. Their passion for this work stems from their past experience in violence prevention as a group facilitator with high school youths in the city. More recently, Hibiki worked as an analyst in the consulting sector, supporting federal and state entities to administer and refine national programs addressing issues around substance use and mental health, maternal and child health, and healthcare financing. They received a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Pittsburgh as well as a master's of social work and a master's of public policy from the University of Chicago. In their free time, Hibiki enjoys playing chess, cooking, and running along the lakefront.
