Janet Zamudio

Janet Zamudio is a Research Project Coordinator at CORNERS. Janet is eager to use her passion for community-based research to study the effects of gun violence, domestic violence, displacement, and poverty on disinvested communities in Chicago in her role at CORNERS. Prior to joining CORNERS, Janet worked on supporting environmental and housing justice efforts in Los Angeles via community-based approach to research and her operational skills with the state-wide organizations Communities for a Better Environment (CBE) and the California Community Land Trust Network (CACLTN). Janet holds a B.A in Public Affairs and Geography from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). In her spare time, Janet enjoys baking, traveling, and watching various sports games.

Featured Projects

Currently, our research focuses primarily on gun violence prevention and community violence intervention (CVI), policing practices, and public safety, and we are expanding into other areas that effect neighborhood health and well-being.
